A mai napon a SZAKSZ aláírta a megállapodást a Generali Biztosítóval, ami alapján a biztosítási védelem, a fent említett időponttól fennáll. A biztosítás mentesíti az autóbuszvezető munkakörben dolgozó szakszervezeti tagjait, olyan károk megtérítése alól, melyek a munkaviszonyból eredő kötelezettségek vétkes megszegésével gondatlanul okozott és mely kárért a munkajog szabályai szerint a munkáltatóval szemben kártérítési felelősséggel tartozik.
A biztosító csak a gondatlanságból elkövetett károkat téríti meg, tehát a szándékos károkozás esetén a biztosító nem fizet. A munkavállalói felelősségbiztosítás esetén van önrész, mely a kártérítési határozatban megállapított kár mértékének a 10 %-a, de minimum 5 000 Ft., amit a munkavállalónak kell megfizetni. Egy példa: abban az esetben, ha a munkáltató 100 000 Ft-os kártérítésre kötelezi az autóbuszvezetőt, akkor ebből a biztosító 90 000 Ft-ot térít, a szakszervezeti tagunknak pedig 10 000 Ft. önrészt kell átvállalni, a kártérítési határozatban foglalt összegből.
Abban az esetben, ha a káresemény során az autóbuszvezető ittas volt a biztosító nem téríti meg az okozott kárt.
A saját hibás baleset bekövetkezése után, ahol a jármű megsérült, vagy az utasokat baleset ért, minden esetben fel kell venni a kapcsolatot a szakszervezettel és be kell jelenteni az eseményt. A szakszervezet, vagy jogi képviselője segítséget, képviseletet nyújt az eljárás során.
A biztosító felé a káresemény bejelentését a szakszervezet intézi.
